There was a lovely May Day parade on the 1st May which was a public holiday in the Northern Territory

King's Canyon

We did a 6 km rim walk around the top of King's Canyon.
The walk started with 500 steps straight up and we mean straight up!

The views from the top over the surrounding plains were sensational.

The Olgas

semi-overcast

Headed off to the Olgas after the Gunfire Breakfast.
Stunning views on the way in.

Then did the Valley of the Winds walk and later the Walpi Gorge walk
8 kms in total, some of it very steep.

Anzac Day Dawn Service

Up early again to attend the Anzac Day Dawn Service at Yulara.
Great setting beneath the Milky Way with Ayers Rock in the background.

Then attended the Gunfire Breakfast of bacon & eggs at the local Lions Club

Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Saw the rock glow at sunset

Up early the next morning to see the sunrise on the rock and
did the 10.4 km walk around the base of the rock.

During the walk we saw some Processionary Caterpillars. There were 40 of them in a row.
